Viking Precision has been working on a project for London Underground to prevent line shutdowns due to main power cable connectors breaking due to being out in the weather. The London Underground worker can now find a faulty cable that has snapped and use this connection tool to temporarily fix the problem to get a line back running during the day.
The intention is that every London Underground track worker will have one in their pocket.
